Open ChurchEs in the Oklahoma NETWORK

The Oklahoma Assemblies of God believe every community deserves a healthy church. To place a church on the Open Church List, we ask that you complete this form to help the OKAG showcase your church on our website to perspective pastoral candidates. Please take the time to adequately describe your church's history, ministries, community, and facilities. Also, please upload photos of your church's exterior and interior, highlighting your church and giving potential pastoral candidates a good picture of your facility.

About the Church: We moved to our current location in 2022. We have Adult Sunday School class, Sunday Morning Worship Service, and Wednesday Evening Bible Study. Our W.M.'s group meets twice a month and men meet occasionally. We have lots of fun at our fundraisers throughout the year with Pie Auctions, Chili Cookoffs, Craft Bazaars, and Pancake Breakfasts. Our primary community outreach is our Food Pantry. We help approximately 150 families each month with food, which in large part is provided by the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, and donations from Hilltop folks. Through our Food Pantry we have added to our membership several folks from this neighborhood. We support six missionaries. Hilltop also rents our church to a lovely Hispanic congregation, Iglesia De Cristo Libre, which has grown tremendously since they have moved here. Our very caring congregation is older, average age is 60. We are seeking someone who would be interested in helping us to continue our inner-city ministry. Currently, we are requesting a part time pastor, but of course we are open to whatever direction our Lord Jesus has for us to go.

Pastors who have served the congregation in the last 10 years: Jerry G. Burnside

About the Church:
First A/G has historically been known for its strong commitment to Missions and Children’s Ministry. We have been blessed to launch many individuals who have entered the Missionary/Ministry field as a vocation. The church suffered a catastrophic fire in June of 2022 and is presently meeting in the Family Life Center on Sunday mornings with two adult and one Children’s Sunday School Class available. There are no organized outreach/ministry programs in operation currently. The size of the congregation has declined in recent years; however, the commitment of those who remain is steadfast. The property is in a prime area of the city and is a blank slate for future growth.

About the church: MAG was founded in 1948 with a strong commitment to US, World, and Local Missions. We still remain steadfast in our desire to come together as one family working to reach the lost. This fortitude and spiritual heritage are evident in our unwavering support of AG missionaries, AG affiliated humanitarian organizations, in running our local food pantry, in participating with the local Ministerial Alliance, in our efforts to provide aid to the needy, and in our many outreaches to the community. We are a seasoned congregation ready to grow, build and sustain the future generation of MAG for God.

We currently have Sunday AM (Sunday School @ 10; Adult & Children @ 11), Sunday PM (Multi-Generational @ 6), and Wednesday PM (Adults & Children @6:30) Services. MAG facilities encompass 1 city block which includes the church building, Family Life Center, event pavilion, parsonage, storage structures, and land for future growth. In the last 5-years, we have updated the parsonage, church offices, entry hall, and sanctuary. We have a new roof and have recently added a newly remodeled Children’s Wing. By God’s grace and provision, MAG is both spiritually and financially stable. We are blessed to experience the gifts of the spirit regularly in our services and are completely debt free.
